Well, we're here. The last day. As we all meet back at the Alice Springs Desert Park for the last time there is a definite air of sadness amongst the group. It's been a big week. Friendships have been forged, experiences shared, good times, fun times and now it's all coming to a close. Nevertheless, we get on with it and head into the park. We visit the sand country and, for some it's the first visit to a few of the aviaries there.
The birds put on a show and everyone is excited again and having a ball. The little Black-chinned Honeyeaters must have thought they were movie stars and the paparazzi had come to town. The shutters were firing hard and fast as they hung around close to the group.
In fact there were movie stars in town...but more on that later.

The wildflowers were also out in force in the desert country.
So we would normally head off to the Nature Theatre for a final shot at the birds in flight but there were movies stars in town and they had taken over the Nature Theatre! Apparently a reality show based on 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert' was being filmed there so no birds in flight!
The staff at the Alice Springs Desert Park were brilliant though. They organised a special session in the sand country for our group to photograph a Thorny Devil and a Woma Python. Fantastic!! Both reptiles in their natural environment. What a great opportunity and the session did not disappoint.

One last session in the Education Room with critique and editing tips and we were done. Officially, the workshop was finished for 2012. An awesome week to be sure, and I can't wait to get back out there again next year.
Dinner arrangements were made and we all met back at Sportos for a fantastic meal. They serve big meals out there in the Red Centre and Sportos serve them up better than most.
